Changing it Up
I’ve almost made it to a year of writing one poem a week, give or take. I did not anticipate that I’d be celebrating that milestone in the middle of a pandemic. I started an online writing class this week, and was fretting slightly about how to keep up with the assignments and still write a poem a week. But I couldn’t just abandon this goal so close to completion. Meanwhile other poets I know are doing NaPoWriMo, and I want to get in on that, but I barely have time as it is. The solution arrived, via my instructor, in the form of a 30 day haiku challenge. I can manage that. So instead of a poem a week, I’ll be writing one a day. Perhaps I’ll also add some work from class or other observations from this difficult and sometimes indescribable time.
